Try everything before you buy

Install it as described below – no account, no key needed. Everything works: calibrating, the autopilot, reactions, preview, sound and subtitles. Writing to the timeline and finishing the picture cover the first two minutes of each episode, so you can see the real result in Resolve. Activate a licence and the same installation does whole episodes.

Before you start

Check three things

DaVinci Resolve Studio 21.1 or laterThe free DaVinci Resolve does not run workflow integration plugins. In Resolve: DaVinci Resolve › About shows “Studio” and the version. No Studio yet? Buy it from Blackmagic Design ↗
External scripting set to LocalResolve › Preferences › System › General › External scripting using: Local. Restart Resolve after changing it.
An administrator accountThe installer puts a small starter into Resolve's plugin folder once. Updates later need no admin rights.
Windows 10 / 11

Install on Windows

  1. Close DaVinci Resolve.
  2. Open PowerShell as administrator. Start menu, type PowerShell, right-click › Run as administrator.
  3. Paste this line and press Enter:
    irm https://github.com/marcvannuffel/dm360-releases/releases/latest/download/install.ps1 | iex
It downloads the latest version, checks its signature and installs it. It ends with “Fertig: PodcastMagic 360 …”.
  4. Start DaVinci Resolve and open a project.
  5. Open the plugin: Workspace › Workflow Integrations › PodcastMagic 360.
macOS · Apple Silicon

Install on a Mac

  1. Quit DaVinci Resolve.
  2. Open Terminal (Applications › Utilities › Terminal).
  3. Paste this line and press Return. It asks for your Mac password once.
    curl -fsSL https://github.com/marcvannuffel/dm360-releases/releases/latest/download/install.sh | bash
  4. Start DaVinci Resolve and open a project.
  5. Open the plugin: Workspace › Workflow Integrations › PodcastMagic 360.
First start

Your first episode

  1. Language: the plugin starts in English; German is in Settings (the sliders icon, top right) › Language.
  2. System check: Settings › System check shows ✓ or ✗ for Resolve Studio, the camera fuse, the bundled tools, your licence and the optional extras – with what to do for anything missing.
  3. Media › Setup: pick your studio type (table, lounge, interview, round, stage) and the target format.
  4. Everything automatic: choose the folder with the camera file and the podcast audio. The plugin sets up the project, analyses, finds the people and computes the cut.
  5. Check it: press play with “Follow track” on. Correct anything on the Calibrate and Direct pages, or overdub live with the number keys.
  6. Output › Write to timeline, then render in Resolve as usual. For full quality with smooth playback use Finish picture.
Licence

Activate, update, move

Activate

After buying you get the key by email (it also stays in Polar's customer portal). In the plugin: Settings › Licence, paste the key, Activate. One computer per licence.

Updates

When the plugin opens it fetches a newer version in the background, checks its signature and runs it the next time you open it. All 1.x updates are free.

New computer

On the old one: Settings › Licence › Free this computer. Then install on the new one and activate the same key. Old computer gone? Write to us and we reset it.

Offline

The licence is checked every two weeks when online; offline it keeps working for 30 days.

Help

If something does not work

PodcastMagic 360 is not in the Workflow Integrations menu

Check that you use DaVinci Resolve Studio and that External scripting is set to Local, then restart Resolve. If it is still missing, run the installer again.

The picture looks wrong or the camera does not move

After installing or updating, restart Resolve once so Fusion loads the camera fuse. The system check shows whether the fuse is installed.

Playback in Resolve is slow

Choose “Cut” in the version switch at the top for smooth playback while editing, or use Output › Finish picture. The slow tools (deflicker, noise reduction) then run once on the HD cut.

“Licence already active on another computer”

Free it on the other computer first (Settings › Licence › Free this computer), or write to us.

Where is the log?

Windows: %LOCALAPPDATA%\DM360\panel.log · macOS: ~/Library/Logs/DM360/panel.log – send it along when you write to us.
